Mental Health First Aid By Sustain

In addition to traditional First Aid training, Sustain Ltd delivers courses in First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace.

Accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB), Mental Health & Wellbeing training is available at three levels to assist clients in recognising and managing mental health impact, and in developing Mental Health Action Plans to provide a supportive environment for colleagues.

All of the courses are FAIB certified for 3 years, upon successful completion, and available remotely or in person at client or third party premises.

 

Half Day Mental Health Awareness

This introductory level course is suitable for all staff within an organisation, where raising awareness of workplace mental health is a target.

The course syllabus includes:

  • Awareness of mental health, its impact and associated stigma

  • Recognising signs and symptoms of mental health impact in an individual

  • Strategies and assistance for identified impact to mental health in the workplace

 

 

1 Day Mental Health in the Workplace

This full day course is suitable for team leaders, line managers or those with specific responsibility for wellbeing in the workplace.

The training builds on the fundamentals covered in the half day course.

The course syllabus includes:

  • Awareness of mental health, its impact and associated stigma

  • Recognising signs and symptoms of mental health impact in an individual

  • The law relating to mental health at work

  • Developing a workplace Mental Health Action Plan

  • Sources of external professional expertise and guidance

  • Best Practice principles for mental health at work

 

 

 

 2 Day Mental Health & Wellbeing in the Workplace

This 2 day course is suitable for those with management responsibilities relating to wellbeing in the workplace, or in developing policies for the management of workplace mental health and wellbeing.

This training expands upon, and further develops, skills covered in the half day and one day courses.

The course syllabus includes:

  • Awareness of mental health, its impact and associated stigma

  • Recognising signs and symptoms of mental health impact in an individual

  • The law relating to mental health at work

  • Use of a workplace Mental Health Action Plan to assist individuals in need

  • Sources of external professional expertise and guidance

  • Best Practice principles for mental health at work

  • Recognition and understanding of more complex mental health conditions

  • Information of self care to promote wellbeing

  • Wellbeing in the workplace and interaction with promotion of mental health
